Mark Lange
Founder and Director

Over the past 32 years Mark Lange has passionately been involved with the sport of lacrosse. A graduate, and former captain of the Curry College Men’s Lacrosse program, Mark is currently the coach of the Carleton University Ravens Men’s Lacrosse Program. Lange has experience coaching lacrosse players from all ages, starting at 2 and all the way through the University level. Born and raised in the States, he has also previous stops as the head coach of multiple NCAA Division 3 programs, high school and club teams, as well as youth lacrosse, football and ice hockey as well. Since moving to Ottawa in early 2018, Mark has also worked with the Ottawa Nemesis, as both a coach and as it’s Director of Coaching, as well as with the Nepean Knights Minor Association.

Above all things, Mark as a passion for coaching lacrosse and working with and teaching players of all age ranges. He believes in the 6 T’s of Bytown Lacrosse and uses them to foster a love and appreciation of the sport, and that every child should be playing multiple sports and not specializing too early in life. Brock Conley
Coach

Born and Raised in Ottawa, Brock has been involved in lacrosse in the area since he can remember. Currently the Carleton Ravens Defensive Coordinator and General Manager, Brock was also the 2019 Team MVP for the Ravens! Brock has also coached with the Ottawa Nemesis for the previous four seasons, coaching players from all ranges from 5th grade through High School. Aside from his work with the Nemesis, Brock is also a coach within the NCLL and plays a large role within the Ottawa Lacrosse Club as well. While he currently is finishing up his PHD studies at Carleton, it is fair to say that his passion lies within the confines of lacrosse and fully believes in the LTAD model and that lacrosse is truly a lifetime sport!

Matt McFarlane
Goalie Coach

Matt grew up with a goalie stick in his hands! The former Junior B goalie for the Nepean Knights, has many years experience in the cage in both Field and Box Lacrosse. While backstopping the Ottawa Black Sheep Field Lacrosse Team for ten seasons, Coach was named an All Canadian Goalie in 2003. On top of that experience, Matt saw success on the Senior B circuit as well, playing for the Valleyfield Dinomytes and spent some time locally schooling the youngins of the OLC. Still living in Ottawa, he most recently could be seen coaching the goalies for the Ottawa Nemesis Varsity team! Matty has both the knowledge and demeanor to work with goalies of all age ranges.

D’Arcy Belyea
Coach

D’Arcy is a coach who is rooted in Ottawa, and has a large stake in watching it continue to grow and thrive. The founder of the local NCLL, Capital Axeman Player, Competitive Director of the Gloucester Griffins and Assistant Coach of the Carleton Ravens Men’s Lacrosse Team. D’Arcy plays an integral role within Bytown as helps bring box concepts to the field while we use small sided games as one of our main teaching tools. Aside from being a coach, D’Arcy is also a teacher and will also help oversee the culture and development of the whole athlete as Bytown continues to grow in the future!
